Technicians working at Linton’s Iden site have successfully added a bespoke Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to enhance the customer facing properties of the project system.
The brief from our client was to incorporate existing and new instrumentation into a brand new PLC, which allowed greater control and status over the incoming site flow.
The PLC system developed by Linton provides easy access to system operating data and shows trend lines over time that allows more detailed analysis. Linton technicians have also incorporated telemetry to remotely notify the client of status and condition.
In addition to the new PLC system, the Linton team swapped out the existing Direct On-line Starters for new Variable Speed Drive pumps, allowing for much greater control over speed of flow in order to deliver significant improvements in energy efficiency.
